Group Workouts – Start a Social Sweat Club

 

There’s book club? There’s wine club? There’s even lift club, but what about fitness and health club? One way of incorporating more exercise into your everyday routine is by doing it as a group. Moral support goes a long way and when you’re in it together, you’re committed. Instead of lift club, get a cycling group together with colleagues and work together to sweat more. When it’s your world, it’s your workout.

    Group exercises are great because it helps you not only commit to getting active, but you also get to spend more time with your friends or colleagues that you enjoy. Instead of a carpool, round up a few of your colleagues and start a cycle to work group. It’s a great way to power up your commute to work and spend time with colleagues outside of the office.

    Some companies offer a cycle to work scheme, so ask your employer if they would be willing to sign you up. It’s the perfect way to fit exercise into your everyday and it’s better for our planet. That’s a win, win.

    Depending on the weather, hiking is a great group exercise. Once a month you and a group of friends could set off into the many rolling hills throughout the United Kingdom and enjoy scenic views while getting a sweat going. To incentivise your group workouts even further, make a list of the hikes you want to try and tick one of every other weekend. Even as a group, setting small goals helps you achieve a lot more.

    If you’re not one for park runs, find yourself a scenic walk and invite your friends along. This way you can catch up with each other, spend time together, but even better still, squeeze in a bit of exercise.
