This year, Sure is on a mission to motivate women to move more by inspiring them to take advantage of their surroundings and use ‘the world as their workout’ to stay active. To help support this mission we are partnering with Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign to inspire women to get their heart rate up and find new ways of moving. The new partnership champions our commitment to support women to use their world as their workout; making movement more accessible throughout the UK.
From making the most of the morning commute (yes, that means taking the stairs!) to taking part in a local community dance class, we want to show women that making the decision to be more active doesn’t need to be daunting and can have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing. In Sure’s terms, "The more you move, the more you live".
With many of us put off by the thought of a morning in the gym or pounding the pavement, we want to encourage women to think a little differently about what they can do to get up and get moving - your world can be your workout. Whether that’s taking the stairs instead of the lift, getting off the bus a stop early to get your steps up, or going for a power walk (and talk) around the block with your friend.
Research shows that there are plenty of women who want to exercise more but are held back by fear of judgement from others; something we are hoping to eradicate through our ‘Your World. Your Workout.’ initiative. By growing a trusted community of movers to share their stories and fitness journeys, we are striving to transform the way women feel and think about getting active. In doing so, help inspire others and show that everyday movement opportunities are endless!
To celebrate the new partnership, we have released a limited edition This Girl Can antiperspirant; Advanced Protection Pure Fresh incorporating a new design and the This Girl Can logo, available in all major retailers now.
As part of the collaboration, Sure Women is contributing towards Sport England’s new This Girl Can Community Fund (stay posted for launch dates!) which helps local communities to encourage women to get active. Local organisations and community groups can bid for grants from between £300 to up to £10,000 to help better their club, group or association.
Sure Women is also supporting the new and improved This Girl Can Activity Finder which helps women find accessible ways of movement in areas local to them with varying intensities, lengths of time and ease of help so they can be perfectly matched to their needs.
